All photos must be taken of captive, live Avicultural specimens in any collection you choose

All photos must be submitted via email as a JPEG image with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. **Must include the Photographer’s name, Photographer’s Address, Photographer’s Email and the Species of Bird/s and Sex of Bird/s with ALL entries.

All photos will be judged on quality, clarity and composition. Make sure the birds are the main subject of your photo and in focus. No watermarks or dates on the front of the pictures permitted

All entries become property of APWS, will be copyrighted and may be used in future publications or on the website.

All entries will be judged by the Photo Contest Committee. Winners will be announced in the APWS Magazine and may be featured on the covers of future issues or on the website

Photographers are not required to be members of APWS.

HISTORY OF THE APWS PHOTO CONTEST
The APWS Photo Contest was suggested by Bruce Bergbom at the 1988 meeting of the Board of Directors. He agreed to chair the committee. The first advertisement for the contest was printed in the June, 1989, APWS Magazine. It had a catchy lead, “So you’ve got a great color shot of your bird and you’d like us all to see it. Simple, enter the contest and your photo could wind up on the cover of the APWS Magazine.”
Photos in the first APWS Photo Contest were judged by Bruce Bergbom, Mike Lubbock, Bill Bueltman, and Bob Ilardi. The winning photos appeared in color on covers of the APWS Magazine in 1989. Other Photo Contest Chairs have included Chris Olson, Janet Trader, Bev Ure, Jim Bleuer, Ian Gereg and presently re-ppointed Janet Trader is the Current Chair.
